Welcome to Kenai Backcountry Lodge
In the heart of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge’s two million acres of stunning mountain, lake and river habitat lies Kenai Backcountry Lodge:
a unique, historic property offering discerning travelers a rustic and remote Alaskan experience. Tucked along the shoreline of a glacier-carved
lake and accessed only by boat, Kenai Backcountry Lodge promises a picturesque wilderness setting rich with history, comfort, hospitality and
natural beauty. Our commitment to eco-tourism is evident here, in the quiet operation of a custom hydro-electric system that allows for minimal
dependence on fossil fuels. Nine guest cabins ensure a small group atmosphere at all times and a lighter footprint on the earth. All offer
charming indoor amenities, including lodge-style furnishings, private bathroom and shower, private deck, linens, comforters, propane heaters
Like all Alaska Wildland Adventures’ lodges, Kenai Backcountry Lodge is an all-inclusive wilderness lodge featuring guided activities, delicious meals, private accommodations and round trip transportation either from Cooper Landing (for our self-drive friends) or from Anchorage (picking up and dropping off at local hotels or the airport).
Three ways to stay:
1. Enjoy Kenai Backcountry Lodge as a stand-alone package in your self-designed Alaska vacation itinerary.
2. Combine with Kenai Riverside Lodge and/or Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge to create a custom, flexible itinerary all your own.
3. Join us on a multi-day, all-inclusive Guided Journey that includes a two night stay at Kenai Backcountry Lodge!
